The Hotel will try to return confirmation within 48 hours or contact the hotel directly, and speak to the front desk to properly reserve and block your accessible guestroom.

If you require accessibility assistance to book your housing or if you have any problems/issues, please email hotel@scmsconference.com.

A NOTE ABOUT OUR ROOM BLOCK

For each Annual Meeting, the SCMS works diligently to reserve the accommodations and space we need for our 2,400 attendees and 400+ sessions. When a venue is secured for our meeting, the SCMS contracts a number of guest rooms at our conference hotel. In order to acquire the meeting and event space we need for our sessions, exhibits and receptions, we partner with a hotel to bring them revenue in the form of booked hotel room nights.

In making an agreement with our Annual Meeting hotel partner, we receive access to meeting and special event space that we can then use to further our mission. Without our efforts to book and fill the hotel blocks, the meeting space rental fees would be extremely costly, making the Annual Meeting much more expensive.

The hotel we choose for our Annual Meeting is a safe, reputable, and centrally located property. The rates at the hotel are negotiated on behalf of attendees to be lower, more equitable, and more predictable over time than the regular rates offered to non-conference attendees. Without the support of attendees like you staying in the discounted hotel blocks, our fees and prices would need to drastically change to afford those added costs. These price changes would mean that registration fees and membership dues could rise. The ability of SCMS to offer meeting space and AV equipment at little to no charge would disappear and members would get less support.

SCMS staff work tirelessly to find the best prices for its members and for the society by working with various partners. Please consider staying in the SCMS hotel block.

HOTEL RESERVATION SCAM INFORMATION

Please make your hotel reservation directly with the conference hotel using the information provided above. Please do not give your credit card information or make any reservations with any other housing bureau, housing company or convention housing appearing to represent SCMS. These companies, frequently based out of Las Vegas and going by names such as Exposition Housing, Expo Housing Group, Convention Housing, et. al, appear to offer lower rates for hotel rooms and are a scam. We are not able to verify the authenticity of such companies, and will not be able to provide resolution to issues related to such reservations.
